These are dangerous lies. Neuroleptics, originally referred to as "chemical straight jackets" and "chemical lobotomies" by their early enthusiasts who used them to quiet crowded mental hospitals, are nothing but accidentally discovered chemicals that disable and damage the brain.

The fact is these accidentally discovered psychoactive chemicals and their profiters laid and enforced the foundation of the entire biopsychiatric profession in medicine, and with a market to consumers, government (suppressing civil unrest, "helping" the homeless by doping them up in group homes and invasion onto civil liberties through involuntary commitment.) Big Pharma and psychiatry has become a trillion dollar industry, with Big Pharma being the third largest industry in the world and of course many patients and their families themselves praise this failed hypothesis, because the simplified biochemical hypothesis makes it easy to just say "No need to investigate and it's not my/our fault, what a relief."
They do not treat schizophrenia or pyschosis. They are chemical restraints. Schizophrenia is NOT a disease, there is no scientific evidence to suggest that it is that cant trace back to the drug treatments themselves or be destroyed by logic -- For instance the structural abnormalities found on the PET scan that Fuller Torrey has used in his legal persuasive efforts, can be re-created in monkeys given neuroleptics! Similar, hard to distinguish abnormalities are also caused by alcohol, and as you would read in Valensteins book, experience can change brain anatomy as well.
This whole site is full of pathetic lies, but the worst is this "Commitment to stay on treatment often leads to successful recovery in schizophrenia patients."

Let's have a quick look at where these drugs came from and how they came about being used.
Preclinical
1883 Phenothiazines developed as synthetic dyes.
1934 USDA develops phenothiazines as insecticide.
1949 Phenothiazines shown to hinder rope-climbing abilities in rats.
1950 Rhone Poulenc synthesizes chlorpromazine, a phenothiazine, for use as an anesthetic.
Clinical history/standard neuroleptics
1954 Chlorpromazine, marketed in the US as Thorazine, found to induce symptoms of Parkinson's
disease.
1955 Chlorpromazine said to induce symptoms similar to encephalitis lethargica.
1959 First reports of permanent motor dysfunction linked to neuroleptics, later named tardive
dyskinesia.
1960 French physicians describe a potentially fatal toxic reaction to neuroleptics, later named
neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
1962 California Mental Hygiene Department determines that chlorpromazine and other neuroleptics
prolong hospitalization.
1963 Six-week NIMH collaborative study concludes that neuroleptics are safe and effective
"antischizophrenic" drugs.
